Welcome to the Orthodox World Feed

Church News

June 9, 2026 · Source: The Ancient Faith — Editorial

The members’ news feed is live: curated coverage of the Orthodox world — Church news, statements from the hierarchs, the feasts, and the suffering Church — every item sourced and dated.

This feed exists to connect the story this site tells with the Church as she lives today. The same Church that stood in the arena under Nero and confessed the Creed at Nicaea worships, suffers, and endures right now — and a site about her history would be incomplete without her present.

The feed is editorial, not an open firehose. Every item is written or curated by an editor, names and links its original source, and is dated. Articles fall into five categories: Church news, statements from the hierarchs, feasts and seasons, longer analysis, and — prominently — the suffering Church, where Orthodox Christians face violence, displacement, or pressure for the faith.

Persecution coverage carries a special weight here. Items are labeled by severity, dated carefully, and corroborated before publication, because spreading rumor about the suffering of real people is not journalism but harm. Where a story belongs to the longer history of the martyrs, it is anchored onto the timeline’s Persecutions & Martyrdom layer, so that the witness of the Colosseum and the witness of today can be seen as one.

Headlines, summaries, and sources are public. Full articles ask for a free membership — a small threshold that keeps the feed a curated, accountable space. Read the editorial and sourcing policy for the full standard we hold ourselves to.
